Business Analyst - Product Owner

Description

Partner with the product management and development teams to efficiently deliver solutions that meet the strategic goals of our executives while satisfying the requirements of our users.

Duties:

  • Partner with Product Managers to plan and prioritize new product features and stories to ensure deliveries in line with the strategic goals of our executives.

  • Ensure that the scrum team always has adequate stories groomed and ready for a sprint.

  • Manage expectations for the delivery of new features.

  • Identify, develop, and support business process change and process optimization.

  • Help the scrum team focus on value-driven development by correlating delivery effort to business value. Develop metrics to assist in the confirmation of business value provided by new features.

  • Identify key process and end-user problems using data, user feedback, and research to address and define product features, ensuring clear communication of those requirements to the business, design, and engineering teams to deliver impactful end-to-end experiences.

  • Identify opportunities, risks, constraints, and dependencies in collaboration with the scrum team to prioritize and refine user stories

  • Advocate for the end-user and stakeholders by developing a deep understanding of end-user needs and the strategic goals of the organization.

  • Turn user pains and problems into actionable stories.

  • Work with the scrum team to continuously assess progress, the next steps, and identifying lessons learned.

  • Provide regular updates to product managers. Report project risk and impediments as soon as they are known.

  • Participate in the quality assurance process by writing and executing test plans.

  • Document processes and author end-user guides

  • Train and support end-users.

  • Plan and manage end-user acceptance testing.

  • Organize and lead proof of concepts to validate product plans and confirm end-user requirements.

  • Measure and analyze existing applications for opportunities to innovate and improve,
    thereby creating opportunities for additional benefits to stakeholders and end-users.

  • Research and evaluate third party products and add-ons as an alternative to new development.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

  • Provide second level weekend support a few times during the year.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or higher Degree or over eight years as a Business Analyst/Product Owner. Experience in one or more of the following fields is advantageous:

    • Warranty service

    • Construction management

    • Homebuilding industry

    • Digital marketing

  • Demonstrated experience with the modern web, mobile, and native iOS/Android application development and testing. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to understand and communicate highly technical subjects to a diverse group.

  • A passionate practitioner of end-user shadowing and role-playing as techniques for discovering unspoken requirements.

  • Proficient at preparing the following documents: Scope Documents, User Stories, Use Cases,

  • Functional Specification, Process Flow Diagrams, Gap Analysis.

  • Ability to navigate difficult discussions using data as evidence for best next steps and resolution.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, scrum team and end-users.

  • Strong organizational skills and aptitude to learning new process and tools.

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio).
