A Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO) training workshop is conducted by a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and teaches the Scrum terminology, practices, and principles that will enable the participant to act as a Scrum Product Owner.

Who will benefit?

The class is great for current Scrum Product Owners, business analysts, Scrum Masters, testers, or anyone involved with creating requirements, gathering needs, and managing products.

 

Note: The CSPO course assumes that attendees already have a basic understanding of Scrum via our Agile and Scrum in a Day course, Certified ScrumMaster course, or equivalent Scrum experience.

Topics covered

This course starts with an overview of the Agile and Scrum frameworks. From there, the curriculum includes:​

  • Understanding the role of the Product Owner

  • Understanding customers and users

  • Testing product assumptions

  • Working with the Product Backlog

Scrum Product Owner Certification will not only cover detailed working of Scrum framework but will evolve you to a mindset of how it is to function as a Product Owner for your Scrum Team. It will take you on a ride of how you can deliver fast without compromising quality, how you can lead a product along with Scrum teams, order the product backlog thus ensuring the product gets delivered.

Requirements

  • Attend a live online or in-person course taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST®), or receive private coaching from a Certified Agile Coach (CAC). 

  • After successfully completing the course, you will be asked to accept the CSPO License Agreement and complete your Scrum Alliance membership profile.

Certification

Upon completion of the course, students will be credentialed as Certified Scrum Product Owners. Additionally, this course allows students to claim 14 Project Management Institute (PMI)® Professional Development Units (PDUs)* as well as 16 Scrum Alliance Scrum Education Units (SEUs). Maintain your CSM certification by earning Scrum Education Units® (SEUs) and renewing your certification every two years.
