An effective way of leading can lead to ballooning of the organization’s success but most importantly, the team's personal growth, because how else can you keep outstanding people if they don’t feel you are a huge help to their character development? Efficient leadership requires more than just sitting behind a desk and assigning responsibilities, as excellent leaders have a significant influence on an individual, having a positive impact on their team members' well-being and productivity. All these are attainable if we engrave into our minds that leadership is a process, not an event. It is never easy being a leader, that’s why we were all over the moon when Michael Kublin shared these 12 keys to victorious leadership.
Beginning with;
Point 1: Amplified awareness
“Proven to significantly amplify levels of self-awareness and heighten leaders' awareness styles and preferences of others.” - Michael showed Johari Window to best explain that awareness has different compartments, this tool is to enlighten how to enhance self-awareness and improve the comprehension of the disparity between our own perceptions of ourselves and the perceptions of others.
Point 2: The Power of Magic Dust
“It's a science, but it works like magic to validate your strengths, preferred styles and preferences, and the fields most in need of development.” - This is to strengthen your distinct abilities and expertise which greatly affect your level of productivity and effectiveness. We also refer to these as gifts given to an individual. The good thing about knowing your magic dust is that it won’t just identify the qualities you’re best at, but will also boost areas where you need improvement.
Point 3: V, M, G, M = B
“Learn the secrets behind why your Vision, Mission, Goals, and Measures must be supported by your behaviors and tracked, documented, and shared with others.” - Out of all the criteria on Peopletek Compass, this is the most important section as this tackles what your organization is trying to achieve and the best strategy how to accomplish your company’s Vision, Mission, Goals. It is also a good way to illuminate that without behavior as backup, it is most likely not to be the best V, M, G, & M for your company.
Point 4: Communication Styles
“Understand why varied approaches and communication styles are effective in different situations. Communication with others in their preferred style to improve results and enhance relationships.” - This meant that it is advantageous to discover the benefits that come from utilizing a range of strategies and modes of communication depending on the context and environment as this makes reaching higher levels of productivity and engagement by talking with others in the manner that is most comfortable for them possible.
Point 5: Visionary/Clarity
“Discover the power of having clearly defined roles, responsibilities, and desired results. Do things with purpose and never by accident.” - Vividly outlining roles, responsibilities, and agreed outcomes can have a favorable impact on the team as this will let everyone know exactly what to do in various situations. When you create detailed roles and duties, everyone understands what’s assumed of them inside the organization. To achieve the company’s objectives, members must learn how to act, what they must do, and how to do so.
Point 6: Accountability, Accountability, Accountability
“We must not only hold ourselves accountable, but we should also encourage others to do so and lead by example” - Making yourself accountable can help you achieve your goals, encourage your coworkers, and learn valuable self-improvement skills. When you lead by example, you help boost your team's success rate by motivating everyone to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct at work.
Point 7: Honoring and Embracing Conflict
“Research clearly states that honoring conflict is both healthy and necessary. It also has been linked to an increase in inspiration, innovative thinking, and collaboration.” - A leader's role includes having difficult conversations and conveying challenging subjects to subordinates but remembers that facing tough discussions in your organization can also help enhance the outcome of communications and strengthen work relationships.
Point 8: The Key to Influencing Others
“How you present yourself dramatically impacts your ability to influence others; hence we all can be effective leaders.” - Building leadership muscle starts with yourself; you cannot be an efficient leader if you won’t trust yourself that you can overcome any obstacle.
Point 9: Authentic and Lasting Relationships
“It's more than just accomplishing a task. An effective leader is proficient in building and maintaining authentic, lasting relationships” – Good leadership requires a genuine desire to help people. Where every member of the team is valued, then it can cultivate a good work atmosphere in which each person can flourish.
Point 10: Feedback Feeds Your Effectiveness
“Your ability to give and receive any type of feedback is critical to your leadership success. The more we understand how others see us, the deeper we understand ourselves.” - The ability to provide and receive constructive criticism is essential if you want to up your game. It is extremely difficult to achieve objectives if everyone isn't aware of accomplishments and how to improve. Both the leader and the team members have a role to play in this process.
Point 11: Inspiration Fuels Success
“Individuals feel valued when inspired by others to stretch beyond their limits.” - It is imperative for companies to have leaders who can inspire and manage effectively. As a leader, it is imperative that you serve as an example for others around you. There's nothing more important than keeping your team on the same page and on the path toward greatness. To keep a strong and healthy work environment, encouragement, recognition, and appreciation are essential.
